The Dance Center of San Antonio offers a variety of classes for all levels of adult students. Whether you are just starting out or have previous dance experience, we would love for you to join us! Dance is beneficial for adult students in many ways as it helps to improve core strength, flexibility, coordination as well as challenges you cognitively! Adult classes are taught by our amazing DCSA faculty who have danced in professional careers and trained at collegiate programs. Classes offered in our Teen & Adult Program are geared toward dancers ages 12 and older.

Teen & Adult Dance Program Details:

  • Teen Dance Program: Our Teen Dance Program is tailored to the unique needs and interests of teenagers. We provide a supportive and engaging environment for teens to develop their dance skills, build friendships, and gain confidence.

  • Adult Dance Program: It's never too late to start or continue your dance journey. Our Adult Dance Program offers flexible class schedules and a welcoming atmosphere for adults of all ages. Discover the physical and mental benefits of dance while having a great time.

 
 

  • The Adult level ballet class offers training appropriate for beginner to advanced level students. Ballet training helps to improve flexibility, coordination, strength, and balance. In addition, because it is also an art-form, ballet dancers have the opportunity to do all this in an expressive form that is augmented by the use of musicality and creativity. This class will help students who are not familiar with ballet to learn the vocabulary and will give dancers with previous dance experience the opportunity to continue to learn!

  • Contemporary dance combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on dynamics, contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension. This class will bring awareness to the feet, spine, and pelvis while focusing on articulating the body parts. Students will also work on the ability to learn and understand stylized movements and choreography. Previous dance experience is not required!

  • Join us for an exhilarating Latin Fusion Class that will ignite your passion for dance! This class combines the vibrant rhythms and movements of Latin dances, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and samba, with elements of contemporary and jazz styles. Led by skilled instructor, Nathaniel, you'll explore the fusion of different dance genres, creating a dynamic and exciting choreography that showcases the best of Latin music and dance. With infectious beats and infectious energy, this class is suitable for dancers of all levels, from beginners to experienced dancers. Get ready to spice up your dance repertoire, improve your coordination, and immerse yourself in the joyous celebration of Latin culture. Whether you're looking to challenge yourself or simply have a blast on the dance floor, our Latin Fusion Class is guaranteed to make you move, groove, and embrace the fiery spirit of Latin dance.

  • Jazz dance is one of the most popular forms of dance. This class will focus on strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. In a Jazz class the dancers also learn many modern dance steps that are used for all forms of dance. It is a great class to get a well rounded variety of all dance steps.

  • Tap is a wonderful way to get a cardio workout while having a great time.  Whether you are just starting out or would like to dust off your shoes and get your jangles on, DCSA has a class for you. Tap is an energetic form of dance that focuses on rhythm and percussion. Classes will focus on coordination, clarity, rhythm, timing and phrasing in a fun and challenging way.

Reformer Pilates: Improve your strength, flexibility, and balance as you work through a series of exercises using the Pilates Reformer machine. Strengthen your core muscles, which are essential for overall stability and posture. Our instructors tailor each Reformer class to meet the individual needs and goals of participants, ensuring a personalized experience.

Mat Pilates: Mat Pilates classes are accessible to all, requiring minimal equipment. They focus on floor exercises that enhance core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Experience the full benefits of Pilates, including improved mental clarity, reduced stress, and better overall health.
