Congratulations to DCSA Student Kate Thomas!
Kate Thomas invited to renown Royal Ballet School in London for year-long program!
Kate Thomas has been dancing since age two. She has competed in YAGP since 2015, winning multiple awards and scholarships including 3rd place this year in Chicago in both Classical and Contemporary ballet category. She also placed first in the Classical ballet category this year in Dallas earning her a spot at the YAGP Finals in New York City. Kate has competed at YAGP NYC Finals 2017-2019, advancing to the final round and performing on Lincoln Center’s stage in 2018-2019 - a first for any dancer from San Antonio. She also placed 1st in Junior Classical category in Houston and 2nd in Classical and Contemporary ballet category in Tampa in past years.
Kate has attended Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive in New York and Connecticut and she attended The Royal Ballet Summer Intensive in London last summer. She was awarded scholarships to Bolshoi Ballet, Ballet West in Utah, and Colorado Ballet Academy among others this year.
Kate is a freshman at Alamo Heights High School and a member of National Honor Society of Dance Arts - DCSA chapter. She also participates in Children’s Ballet of San Antonio.
